Psychologist
Psychologists are clinicians trained to help children and teens with a range of mental health concerns through diagnosis and treatment using a variety of therapeutic strategies. Your child may see a psychologist for concerns such as stress, anxiety, emotional regulation, relationships and a variety of mental health diagnoses.
Counselling
Counsellors are therapists that can help children, teens and their parents cope with a variety of concerns such as stress, anxiety, emotional regulation, relationships and more. They may choose to use different types of therapeutic strategies depending on your child’s needs.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapists, or “OT’s”, work with children to help develop physical, cognitive, emotional, and sensory skills. Your child may see an OT for concerns related to self-regulation (including “disruptive” or stress-based behaviours), challenges associated with Autism or ADHD, coordination, fine motor skills, school readiness skills or developmental trauma.
SSP
The Safe and Sound Protocol is a sound-based intervention where the focus is on regulating a person’s nervous system. A regulated nervous system is a happy one – and this leads to the person feeling safer in their bodies and environment, more able to engage with others, and less likely to experience episodes of emotional distress.
Dietitian
Nutrition is one of the most important ingredients in the recipe for a healthy kid! A dietitian can help with all sorts of concerns such as transition to solids, food intolerances, picky eating, and restrictive or disordered eating. A dietitian can help foster a healthy relationship with food as your child grows.
Physiotherapy
Physiotherapists provide preventive, diagnostic and rehabilitative services for children and teens. This includes concerns with motor development, coordination, musculoskeletal injuries and more. A physiotherapist can help maximize your child’s physical functional capacity.
